Overview
This course is for people who want to acquire knowledge and skills to pursue employment and/or further training in animation, digital art, interactive media authoring, media asset production, cgi special fx and web design.
This course will train you to specialise in developing interactive multimedia applications for use across a variety of industry sectors, such as online content provision, training, marketing, media, and retail etc.

Who is eligible for government subsidised training?
You are eligible for government subsidised training under Smart and Skilled if you are:
- an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or humanitarian visa holder AND
- aged 15 years or older and no longer at school AND
- living or working in New South Wales.

Prerequisites
The course only requires completion of Year 10 NSW School Certificate (or equivalent RoSA statement from another educational authority). If you are 17 or older, No ATAR required for this course.
From 2015 all students are required to obtain a USI (Unique Student Identifier).

What will I be able to do when I finish this course?
You should be able to work for a company or as a freelance multimedia developer. Increasing work is available for web-based projects, as companies are attempting to enrich the web experience with interactive sites and a Youtube presence.
The type of technical skills acquired by students include:
· Aesthetic Design
· Graphics capture and manipulation
· Video capture and editing
· Audio capture and editing
· Authoring, Scripting and structured Programming
· Character based animation
Additional Information
Much of the work will be created using high-end PCs with access to Apple iMacs and secure wireless networks.
Each computer has a dual monitor configuration with a Wacom Intuos Graphics Tablet attached.
Our Digital Media developers will be expected to use and deploy 'cross-platform' solutions via CDROM and DVD, utilising the Web, mobile telephony, podcasts, touchscreen technologies, Intranets, Blu-ray, PC DVD & TV DVD.
Programs like Adobe:
Director, Flash, & Dreamweaver
Adobe CC Master Collection:
Photoshop, Illustrator, Bridge, Edge Animate, Muse, Premiere, After Effects & Audition
Maxon: Cinema 4D
Apple: iTunes & QTVR
and other industry standard 2D, bluescreen compositing and editing tools will be used.
