The Teachers
At Hornsby College of TAFE Information Technology we have a fantastic staff of teachers who will help you achieve your goals in the completion of an IT course. Many of our teachers are currently working in the industry bringing with them a tremendous amount of knowledge, experience and enthusiasm.
The Classes
Each class group is made up of 15 students to one teacher giving you sufficient time with your teacher to ensure you succeed in your course. The classrooms contain 16 computers for student and teacher use. The lessons are hands-on, practical and incorporate industry standard software, hardware and development best practices.
The Outcomes
We have had some fantastic results from our past students. Some students choose to complete further studies with us or go on to university, while many gain rewarding employment in the IT industry.
State Awards
We have had many students receive state awards including:
- Northern Sydney Institute (NSI) IT Student of the Year, 2005
- NSI Student of the Year 2005
- 2008 First in the State for Web Development
- 2008 First in the State for Programming
WorldSkills Competitions
The IT section at Hornsby TAFE has been involved in the WorldSkills competition for many years with outstanding results. WorldSkills competitions are held at the regional, national and international levels. We have had many of our students compete in these competitions with remarkable results.
